MEGOGO Launches Production Studio
Dozens of new movies and original shows await viewers MEGOGO launched its own video content production studio. The company started production of entertainment shows and feature films. Most of them will be available exclusively at MEGOGO, while some will be distributed in Russian movie theaters and sold to other video services. Two movies has already started filming, and five more are getting ready for production.
Georgiy Malkov is appointed a general producer of the studio. In his career, he produced more than 40 movies, most of which were well received by broad audiences: “Мамы (The Moms)” and “Чемпионы (The Champions)” franchises, “Служебный роман. Наше время (Office Romance. Our Time)”,“Легок на помине (Sure to Appear)”, “Дублер (The Double)”, “Смешанные чувства (Mixed Feelings)” comedies, “Пиковая дама. Черный обряд (Queen of Spades. The Black Rite)”, “Маршрут построен (The Route Has Been Created)” horror movies and dozens of other works in various genres. Georgiy Malkov will be responsible for production of all studio content.

By taking part in production from the idea stage to the final version, we are able to influence quality of the product. We already have negotiations regarding brand placements. Of course, own production studio lead by such a strong general producer as Georgiy Malkov will give contribute to dynamic development of the company as well as the OTT industry in Russia.”
The company currently has 7 feature films in production: family comedies, thriller, biopic and melodramas. The releases are scheduled for 2019-2021. The projects feature actors such as Filipp Yankovsky, Andrey Burkovskiy, Semyon Treskunov, Pavel Chinaryov, Danila Yakushev, Rina Grishina, Dmitriy Vlaskin and magicians Safronov brothers.
Work has also begun on original television shows. One of them will premiere at MEGOGO in 2019.
The company plans to produce 300 hours of content in its first year of operation. The production will increase to 1000 hours by 2022.
